Physician Credentialing Specialist (Part-Time) Employment Type: Part-Time | W2 Employee Compensation: $40–$50 per hour (commensurate with experience) Location: Remote Position Summary Maiden Lane Medical is seeking an experienced Physician Credentialing Specialist to oversee provider credentialing, payer enrollment, and recredentialing for our growing multi-specialty practice
This role is responsible for ensuring physicians and advanced practice providers are enrolled with commercial and government payers in a timely and accurate manner to support uninterrupted patient care and revenue cycle operations
Key Responsibilities ● Manage initial credentialing and recredentialing for physicians and advanced practice providers. ● Complete and submit payer enrollment applications for commercial insurance plans, Medicare, and Medicaid. ● Maintain and update provider information in CAQH and other credentialing databases. ● Monitor application status and proactively follow up with insurance payers to expedite approvals. ● Track credentialing expirations, including licenses, DEA registrations, board certifications, malpractice insurance, and payer recredentialing deadlines. ● Coordinate with providers to obtain required documentation and signatures. ● Maintain accurate credentialing files and ensure compliance with regulatory and payer requirements. ● Collaborate with Operations, Revenue Cycle, and Clinical Leadership regarding provider enrollment status. ● Develop and maintain credentialing reports and dashboards, including: ○ New applications submitted ○ Pending applications ○ Approved enrollments ○ Recredentialing deadlines ○ Providers awaiting payer approval ● Assist with provider credentialing and payer enrollment for new practice locations, telehealth services, and multi-state expansion initiatives. ● Identify opportunities to improve credentialing workflows and reduce enrollment turnaround times
Qualifications ● Minimum 3 years of physician credentialing experience required. ● Experience credentialing physicians and advanced practice providers with commercial payers, Medicare, and Medicaid. ● Strong knowledge of CAQH ProView, NPPES, PECOS, and payer enrollment processes. ● Experience working with multi-specialty medical practices preferred. ● Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail. ● Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines independently. ● Proficiency with Microsoft Office and credentialing software
Preferred Qualifications ● Experience supporting multi-state medical practices and/or telehealth organizations preferred. ● Familiarity with eClinicalWorks (eCW) or similar electronic health record systems. ● Experience with New York and multi-state payer enrollment
